Twenty years of images across commercial, portrait, and fine art work. Three galleries below to start — more to follow.
I've been making photographs for over twenty years — first as a student of fine art, then as a working photographer across commercial, nonprofit, and academic work, and always as someone for whom the image begins as an idea before it becomes a frame.
My background in drawing and painting means I think about photographs the way a visual thinker does: composition, light, the relationship between what's inside the frame and what isn't. The camera is a tool, not a destination.
S3Photo is the business side of that practice. The work ranges from portraits to commercial assignments to personal fine art series — all of it made with the same set of eyes.
Twenty years of work across a range of clients and contexts. Below is an honest accounting of where I work best.
Not sure if your project fits? Reach out anyway. I'd rather have a quick conversation than have you wonder.

S3Photo has been operating since 2004. Commercial, nonprofit, academic, and individual clients. If you have a project in mind, I'd like to hear about it.
